Damyanti Amarsingh

After a courageous two-year battle with cancer, our beloved Damyanti Amarsingh passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025. Throughout her journey, she remained selfless, resilient, and filled with love—always striving to uplift others, even in her most difficult moments.

Born on May 30, 1960, in Manali, India, Damyanti lived a life full of kindness, generosity, and joy. For 45 beautiful years, she was a devoted wife and partner to Yashpal Amarsingh, cherishing every moment of their journey together. She adored the outdoors, often spending time in nature and hiking, which brought her peace and happiness.

Damyanti was also a proud former owner of OM INDIA Grocery, where she touched countless lives in the community with her welcoming spirit, radiant smile, and unwavering positivity. Her warmth left an impression on everyone she met, and her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Yashpal Amarsingh, and their son, Shiv Karan, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her mother, Khim Dassi Banon; her brothers, Krishan Banon, Raju Banon, and Aman Banon; and her sister, Indu Banon Anand.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 10:00AM in the Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem. Followed by Antim Ardaas and Guru Ka Langar at 12:00PM at Triad Gurdwara, 1001 Skeet Club road, High Point, NC 27265.
