Danny Ray Melton

KERNERSVILLE-Danny Ray Melton, 76, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014. He was born June 16, 1938 in Orange Co. to the late Burl William and Helen Riley Melton.

Danny drove for ABF, Pilot Freight and Direct Transportation. He was a member of Teamsters #391 and Hillsborough Eagle Lodge #19.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy E. Melton.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Scarlett Melton; daughter, Michelle Nelson and husband, Mike; and two grandchildren, Caleb and Dylan Nelson.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
