Darlene St. John Boyer

Darlene St. John Boyer, 74, of Winston-Salem passed away March 19, 2014. She was born June 12, 1939 in Wilkes County to Noah and Nellie Masten St. John. Darlene was a graduate of East Wilkes High School. She was an active member of West Haven Baptist Church, where she had served on the Finance Committee. Darlene was employed by R J Reynolds Tobacco Company in the Shareholder Services Department and retired from Planters Lifesavers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas Eugene Boyer; Brothers Robert, Thomas, and Noah St. John; Sisters Charlotte Kearns, and Ila Lewis. She is survived by her daughter Karen Boyer; brother Ernest St. John (Darlene), Sylvia McKnight (John), Grace Matthews, Virginia Shumate (Frank), and Mae Summers (Fred); also four Nieces; and six Nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday March 22, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Robert Daulton, Rev. Nat Thompson, and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Entombment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday March 21, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
