Darlene Carmichael

Mrs. Darlene Adams Carmichael, 79, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023.  She was born August 3, 1943, in Stokes County to the late Glenn and Hazel Adams.  Darlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She thoroughly enjoyed fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan, often being called a “NASCAR Nanny”, and always pulled for Jeff Gordon.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Philip Howell and two sisters, JoAnn Hayes and Hilda Hutchins.  Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Tim Carmichael; three daughters: Lori Howell Clark (Brian), Lena Howell Lane (Patrick), and Diana Carmichael Brooks (Shanon); son, Tim Carmichael (Alexandra); five grandchildren: Taylor (Kelsey), Jake (Becca), Chase (Maddy), Amber, and Anna; and five great-grandchildren: Addison, Easton, Everette, Kaylee, and Skylar.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to Marty and BC Caudle for their continuing and loving care of Darlene.

A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 4th with Rev. James Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Boonville Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
