Darlene Workman

One of the kindest, most generous persons on this earth, our mom, Darlene Georgia Workman, 95, passed away peacefully February 19, 2019 at Trinity Elms in Clemmons.  She was born July 4, 1923 in Nebraska to George and Freda Sporleder Malzahn.  Although sweet, she was a strong woman having been married to 1st Sargent Charles M. Workman for 62 years.   She was preceded in death by her husband, a son-in-law, Rudy Nikles and a grandson, Stephen Williams.   Surviving are a son, Charles E. Workman and wife Marybeth; twin daughters, Cheryl A. Williams and husband Robert and Carol A. Nikles; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.  Online condolences may be made to www.hayworth-miller.com.  Memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1308 Davie Ave., Statesville, NC  28677.  The family wishes to thank to the staff of Trinity Elms and Community Home Care and Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Workman.
