Darrel Keith Flippin

Darrel Keith Flippin, 67, of Rural Hall, died Wednesday, July 22, 2026 following a period of declining health. “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Mr. Flippin was born September 9,1958 to Tommy Edison and Lucille Whitfield Flippin, both now deceased. Darrel was a graduate of the local schools; was, along with his father, a master woodworker and recognized custom homebuilder; and was a retiree of the W-S/Forsyth County school system. He was active in the civic affairs of the Rural Hall community for many years, serving in various positions in both the Forsyth Lions and Rural Hall Area Lions Clubs. Darrel was a gentleman and a gentle man.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Newman Flippin, of the home; his son, Derrick Flippin (Stefanie Nicks) of Rural Hall; a sister, Rhonda Wood, of Suffolk, VA; a brother, Mike Flippin, of Elkin, NC; and a special cousin, Jimmy Shamel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a dear aunt, Rhumelle Flippin Tuttle.
