Darriell Cornelius Hauser, age 96, of Lewisville, North Carolina, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 24, 2026. She was born November 4, 1929, in Enon, North Carolina, to her loving parents, Claude and Clyde Cornelius. She was married to her devoted husband, Charles Sprinkle Hauser, who preceded her in death in 2004. Darriell attended Mars Hill College, where she met Charlie, and later Appalachian State University. Because of Charlie’s career, the family moved frequently and lived in many states across the U.S. Darriell dedicated her life to raising their three sons, lovingly caring for them while Charlie worked. He was always home in the evenings and weekends unless traveling, and together they built a strong, close-knit family. Darriell was deeply devoted to her church, and her faith in Jesus Christ was the most important part of her life—it showed in everything she did. She was actively involved in her community and proudly served as a past regent of the Colonel Joseph Winston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of the Lewisville Historical Society and the Lewisville Garden Club. She is survived by her three sons: Charles David Hauser of Boone, NC; Michael Dean Hauser and wife Cherri of Jacksonville, FL; and Mark William Hauser and wife Janice of Lewisville. She is also survived by six granddaughters—Aliyah Prontaut and husband Lloyd, Amanda Linderman and husband Jay, Callie Ferotti, Rachael Pica and husband Scott, Morgan Adkins and husband Nick, and Sarah Hauser—and one grandson, Joshua Hauser and wife Whitney. She leaves behind ten great-grandchildren: Adalyn, Forrest, Elliot, Davis, Luke, Raelynn, Oric, Hazel, Maxwell, and Jackson (JJ); as well as her brother, Horace Dean Cornelius and wife Jan. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Ann Groce, and her husband, Johnie. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Brookridge Retirement Community for the love and kindness shown to Darriell in her final years.
Funeral services will be held at Lewisville Baptist Church on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. A graveside service and family reception will follow. Memorials may be made to Lewisville Baptist Church, 125 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Lewisville, NC 27023. Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel is serving the family of Mrs. Hauser.
