Mr. David Lee Anderson, 82, of Winston-Salem, passed away on October 15, 2017. David was born September 4, 1935 in North Wilkesboro to Mr. Turner Anderson and Mrs. Mary Bowers Anderson. He loved working with his hands whether it was in his shop or his garden and there was nothing that he could not fix or build. David was a lover of sports, especially baseball, basketball, and racing. He was a member of Old Town Baptist Church. Rick will always remember him as his hero. David is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mrs. Katherine East Anderson. Surviving are his son, Rick Anderson and wife Terry of Winston-Salem, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, Cole and Camden, two brothers, Turner "Fuzz" Anderson and wife Evelyn of North Wilkesboro, and Charlie Anderson of North Wilkesboro, two sisters, Francis Edwards of North Wilkesboro and Mildred Joines of North Wilkesboro, a niece, Darlene Palmer and husband Steve of Rural Hall, four great-nieces, Amanda Palmer, Angela Palmer, Amilee Palmer, and Stephanie Palmer, and a special friend and caregiver, AL Johnson. A funeral service will be conducted 2 PM, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Rick Speas officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM - 1:45 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family would like to especially thank the staff of Regency Care of Clemmons for their loving care.
