David & Pat Marshall

David Garfield Marshall, 81, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Health, and his beloved wife, Patricia “Pat” Marshall, 84, reunited with him on Friday, June 26, 2026, passing away at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Both were longtime residents of Winston-Salem, NC.

David was born on October 20, 1937, in Forsyth County. A graduate of Colfax High School in Guilford County, he went on to drive a school bus for Forsyth County for 10 years before enjoying a long career and retirement with AT&T. David was an avid Duke fan and spent much of his free time passionately collecting trains.

Pat was born on October 7, 1941, in Forsyth County and graduated from James A. Gray High School. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant for a local small business. Deeply creative, Pat filled her days with reading, painting, sewing, and tending to her yard. She possessed a generous heart for missions and deeply blessed numerous Christian organizations throughout her life.

David and Pat shared a deeply rooted faith and were devoted members of Winston-Salem First. David took great pride in serving his church community as an usher, and together, they cherished their church home. Pat was preceded in death by David in 2025, and their family takes comfort in knowing they are together once again.

A joint Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Winston-Salem First, 7840 North Point Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winston-Salem First, their church home, in their honor.
