David Paul Higgins

Mr. David Paul Higgins, 58, passed away on Wednesday, November 4 ,2026, at his home in Rural Hall. He was born on March 24, 1968, in Forsyth County to the late Thomas Gwyn Higgins and Linda Lou Priddy Higgins. David graduated from Mount Tabor High School in 1986. He retired from State Electric Company in 2023 after many years of service. David enjoyed working on cars with his father and friends, racing, his truck and listening to country music. Most of all, David loved spending time with his friends. His favorite memories with them were traveling to West Virginia to ride side-by-sides, camping, and going to chicken stews. David was a fighter and never gave up hope. His faith in God brought him immense peace throughout his life, especially during his battle with cancer. God brought him the love of his life, Stephanie Leigh Guertin during his battle. On October 17, 2026, David and Stephanie had a beautiful ceremony of commitment to one another. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by three stepchildren, Robert Connor Guertin, Kari Miller (Chris), and Elizabeth Guertin, a stepmother, Jan Higgins, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many amazing friends. The family would like to thank Trellis Supportive Care, especially nurse Jordan, for their care of David.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Greg Hall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
