David Allen Horne

KERNERSVILLE – David Allen Horne, 61, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. David was born on July 3, 1962, in Surry County to David and Myrtle Luffman Horne.  David served honorably in the United States Coast Guard. Some of his favorite pastimes were watching NASCAR and the Simpsons. He loved motorcycles and antique cars, especially Hot Rods. David also loved music, enjoying concerts at small venues the most. He always put others first and would give you the shirt off his back. 

David was preceded in death by his father, David Glenn Horne.

Surviving are his wife, Beverly Horne; his daughter, Lynn Hedrick (husband, Drew); his mother, Myrtle Horne; five grandchildren, Courtney, Brittany, Cory, Addison, and Payton; a sister, Debra Horne; a niece, Nikki, and nephew, Chris.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in David’s honor to Forsyth County Animal Shelter, 5570 Sturmer Park Circle, Winston Salem, NC 27105.
