David Craig Joyner

Mr. David Craig Joyner, 76, entered into Heaven on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. 

He was born July 5, 1948, to the late Craig and Wilma Joyner. 

He attended NC State and was a lifelong Wolfpack fan. David was a member of the NC National Guard and a retiree of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. As a member of Calvary Baptist Church, he faithfully and joyfully served for many years in the Children's Ministry.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, Travis Joyner. Those surviving include his wife, Gwen; daughter, Stacie Bryant (Joe Jon); son, Matthew Joyner (Erica); daughter-in-law, Charlene Vogler; grandchildren, Gabriel, Ethan (Skyler), and Caden Bryant, Austin, Javan, Cailyn, Lucas, and Josiah Joyner; great-granddaughter, Azalea Bryant; brothers, Ronnie (Norma) and Robert Joyner; mother-in-law, Betty Jane Beck; and niece, Kristi Welborn (Dusty).

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 134 South Peace Haven Road, Winston-Salem, NC, 27104. A service conducted by Dr. Gary Chapman and Pastor Truett Williams, Sr. will follow at 11:00AM at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service at Forsyth Memorial Park.

To honor David and his passion for NC State basketball, feel free to wear red on Thursday along with his family members.
