David Byron Murphy

Mr. David Byron Murphy, 66, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on January 24, 1960, In Indiana to James Murphy and the late Janet Thomas Murphy. David was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working with his hands. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Anna Thomas and Cleo Thomas. Daivd is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kathleen Murphy; two children, Stephanie Hinshaw and her husband Shelby and Donald Shults; granddaughter, Elitia “Ann” Shults; his father, James Murphy; two siblings, Lori and John; and his fur babies, Keena, Odin, Amira, Cas, Willow, River, Aurora. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Sanders officiating.
