David Bennett Pate

Mr. David Bennett Pate, 40, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning June 15, 2017. He was born in Forsyth County on May 17, 1977, to Robert Pate and Kathryn Edwards Pate. David graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in 1995. He was laid back with a great sense of humor and an infectious smile. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and adored his children. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Margaret and David Edwards and paternal grandparents, Jeanne and Kenneth Mothena. David is survived by his son, Matthew Pate; daughter, Calyssa Pate; mother and step-father, Kathryn and Wade Lazenby; sisters, Amanda Pate Pone (John), Audra Pate Bonham (James), and Sonya Lazenby; and several nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A private inurnment will follow at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church, 890 Walkertown Guthrie Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
