David Peters

Mr. David Richard Peters, 70, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  He was born in Forsyth County on November 15, 1952 to the late Oscar and Louise Peters.  David worked and volunteered at Southwest Little League for several years.  He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and Andy Griffith and loved to make people laugh.  Preceding him in death was a daughter-in-law, Beth Peters and a brother, Ed Peters.  Surviving are two sons, Eric Peters and Steven Peters (Leslie); daughter, Mary Beth Smith; two granddaughters, Brittany Widener and Aubree Peters; three sisters, Carol McAllister (Norman), Elizabeth Smith (Dickie), and Frances Ellis-Harkey (Perry); also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, February 24, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
