David Sapp, Sr.

Mr. David Hastings Sapp, Sr., 85, of Winston-Salem, passed from this life to his Heavenly home on Friday, November 17, 2017.

Dave was born May 1, 1932 in Forsyth County to Thomas and Ollie Sapp. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Elon College as well as Lees McRae College, where he attended on a basketball scholarship. Dave worked as a buyer and sales manager in the food industry and was also the owner of a driving school. He enjoyed all sports but especially golf, baseball and basketball. Dave will be fondly remembered for his love of food and cooking.

Family remaining to cherish Dave's memory are his wife of 36 years, Linda Pegram Sapp; daughter, Leslie Baity and husband George; son, David Hastings Sapp, Jr. and wife Kelly; grandchildren, Kanon Sapp, Max Sapp, and Madison Baity; step- daughter, Karen Pfaff; step-grandchildren, Matthew Pfaff and Zachary Pfaff; and brother, Harold Sapp and wife Janet.

At Dave's request, his ashes will be spread at Beech Mountain at a later date.
