WINSTON SALEM - David Paul Stephenson, 67, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his home. David was born on December 30, 1950 in Wellston, Ohio to Edwin and Frances Sadler Stephenson. David served in the US Army Reserves for 22 years. He began his career as a Police Officer in Bluefield, WV and then worked as a Railroad Detective for Norfolk Southern Railroad in Winston-Salem and Charlotte, finishing his career as a Correctional Office in the NC Prison System. David was a big Republican and enjoyed talking politics, religion and law. He was a gun enthusiast, loved gardening and held a special place in his heart for his German Shepherd, “Rab” and his grandchildren. David is survived by his daughter, Roberta Stephenson; son, Robert Stephenson (Katie) two grandchildren, Breann Belle Vann, and Samantha Lynn Stephenson; and two brothers, Steve and Scott Stephenson. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. A service will be held at a later date in Wellston, Ohio.
