David W. Cheek, Sr.

Mr. David Wesley Cheek, Sr., 71, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at his home. He was born January 14, 1953 in Forsyth County to Roy Felts Cheek and Nina Mae Hodges Cheek. Mr. Cheek loved NASCAR and enjoyed going to Bowman Gray to watch races on Saturday nights with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Cheek, Jr. and a brother, Robert Cheek. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Laverne Cheek; two daughters, Sandra Burton (Richard) and Janice Olmedo (Tony); six grandchildren, Chance Burton (Fancy-Mae), Dillion Burton, Clifton Olmedo, David Olmedo, Lilyanna Olmedo and Maddox Olmedo; two great grandchildren, Elijah and Karma-Mae and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with visitation one hour before the service.
