Debby Snow Bates

Debra Snow Bates, 70, a beloved wife, mother, nurse and mentor to many, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025. Born on April 17, 1954 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Homer James Snow and Beatrice Sands Snow. Debby’s gift for guidance and inspiration touched the lives of her family, Patients and countless others that will miss her dearly.

Debby is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Wayne Monroe Bates. Left to cherish Debby’s memory is her loving son, Adam Wayne Bates, her precious fur babies, Belle and Zoey and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and niece.

Debby will be remembered as a tough and tireless advocate for the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Koman Foundation, whose passion for and contributions to the cause inspired many others in our community.

“I will hold you close Mom within my heart and there you shall remain, to walk with me throughout my life, until we meet again. So, rest in peace my Beloved Mother, and thanks for all you have done. I pray that God has given you, the Crown you’ve truly won.” Love you to the Moon and Back, Adam.

The family will receive family and friends Saturday April 19, 2025 at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, N.C. from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

In Lieu of flowers, her son, Adam asks anyone who is willing and able to donate their time or money to Debby’s charities as a way to honor his mother.
