Deborah Gail Venable, 66, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born September 23, 1949 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Jack Allen Venable and the late Hazel Ring Venable Bunker. Miss Venable worked in the Cardiology Department at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center until her health required her to leave on disability. She graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School in 1967 and attended Guilford College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro majoring in Music and Voice. She enjoyed choral singing and performed in many choirs over the years. She was a kind and generous person who never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Frank E. Bunker. Miss Venable is survived by her sister, Lynette V. Welborn and her husband Smith Welborn, Jr. of Winston-Salem; two nephews, Matthew S. Welborn and Thomas R. Welborn both of Raleigh; her aunts and uncle, Estelle Carlyle of Siloam, Bill and Ann Ring of Winston-Salem, and Jo Ann Rollins of Winston-Salem; and several cousins. A celebration of life service will be held at New Philadelphia Moravian Church on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends in the Church Parlor immediately following the service.
