Deborah Whicker Wetmore

Deborah Elizabeth Whicker Wetmore, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on August 6, 1955, to the late Harold Whicker and Helen Zigler Whicker. Deborah was a kind individual who would give you the shirt off her back. Deborah was prideful of her 30 years of hard work at Lorillard, and later ITG. She enjoyed going to church, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She was incredibly devoted to her family. You could always find her in the kitchen, preparing meals, pies, cakes, and more for others. Most of all, she loved life. She will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Deborah is preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, David Wetmore; three daughters, Jody Smith (Adam), April Sloan, and Heather Slate (Patrick); grandchildren Julie, Samantha, Jesse (Hallie), Jay, Brock, Sam, and Tyler (Carlos); two sisters, Nancy, and Patty; special friends Eddie Staples and Deborah Shreve; as well as several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

There are no formal services at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis supportive care at 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
