Ms. Debra Jenkins Thomas, 57, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully with her son at her beside. She was born March 20, 1956 in Clover, SC. Ms. Thomas was of the Baptist faith and an accomplished artist. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved to be called Nana. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Jenkins. Surviving are her mother, Bernice Clare Marr Jenkins of Thomasville; a daughter, Samantha Harris and husband Jon of Saginaw, MI; two sons, Joshua Thomas and wife Penny of Winston-Salem and Matthew Thomas of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Lucas and Lily; two sisters, Leslie Nichols and husband Gene of Thomasville and Nancy Jenkins of Winston-Salem; one brother, Gene Jenkins and wife Sharon of Rural Hall and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Joshua Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
