Dewey "D.C." Clynon Brewer, III

Mr. Dewey ""D.C."" Clynon Brewer, III, 73, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Bermuda Commons Skilled Nursing Facility. He was the son of Dewey C. (June) and Ethel Brewer, who preceded him in death. Many people in the Mt. Tabor community knew him as ""DC"" and he was often called ""D Bird"" by his closest friends. He worked at Goodwill Industries for 45 years and was a colorful character who was loved by all. He greeted everyone with a smile and never knew a stranger. In his younger days, he was known to have ridden his bicycle all over the Piedmont. Sightings in Greensboro, High Point and Lexington were not uncommon. DC is survived by two brothers, Donald W. Brewer (Judy) and Dallas E. Brewer (Donna) plus many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Tommy Arrington, Ray Warrick, Cam Lane, Lance and Candy McCoy, Nancy Holder and Claudette Weston for their close friendship with DC. We would also like to thank the staff at Brookstone Assisted Living, Bermuda Commons Skilled Nursing Facility and the staff at Hospice for their loving care given to DC. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Key officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
