“Lord, help me today. Show me the way. One day at a time.” Mrs. Diana McKnight Grubbs, 82, of Rural Hall, died Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Grubbs was born June 12, 1943 to Hobart David and Mary Ruth Sykes McKnight, both now deceased. She attended the local schools and graduated from Reynolds High School. She had a long career as a CNA and worked several years at Knollwood Hall before retiring from the Brian Center. She was a faithful and active member of Rural Hall Christian Church for as long as her health allowed. She loved her church family and drew strength from their prayers and support. Throughout her Christian journey, her foundational scripture was John 14:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by Me.” In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grubbs was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steven A Grubbs; a sister, Opal McKnight Wiles; and four brothers, H.D., William, Tommy, and Donald Ray McKnight. She is survived by a sister, Florence Cauley, of Moss Point, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 11:00 Friday, May 22, 2026 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Graveside services, conducted by Dr. Wesley C. McCarter, will follow at 12:00 Friday at Crestview Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Rural Hall Christian Church, PO Box 146, Rural Hall, NC 27045. “And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am his own. And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.”
