Diane Lynch Fowler, 76, of Winston-Salem, N.C. went to be with her Lord on February 22, 2024 while surrounded and held by her children. She was born in Raleigh on May 25, 1947. She was raised by Oris Hudson Lynch (Pappy) and Lois Johnson Lynch (JoMama). She spent her childhood in Southport, N.C. where she enjoyed countless hours playing with her paper dolls and walking her cat down the street in a baby carriage. She attended St. Angela’s Academy in Aiken, S.C. for two years and the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She served on the Carteret Community College Board of Trustees from 1997 to 2009 and was always a vocal supporter of the value of the Community College system. She was a proud member of the League of woman voters and a lifelong yellow dog Democrat. Above all these things she was the greatest Mother, Friend and MeMa that anyone could have ever desired. She was a generous person, well-loved by her neighbors, and a wonderful cook and hostess. She had a way with flowers, nourished a beautiful yard, was creative in interior design and wreath making, and loved Carolina basketball. She had a gift for making life more beautiful. Her life centered on her three children and there was nothing she wouldn't do for them. Her love for her grandchildren was just as strong. For Diane, family was the center of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband Will Barnes Fowler. She is survived by her brothers and sisters whom she adored: Randy Johnson, Joseph E. Johnson, Bill Lynch, Patricia L. Johnson and LaVinnia P. Johnson. Surviving are her children Seth A. Fowler, Mary Hilliard Moran, Lee B. Fowler and son in law whom she loved as much as her own children: Peter Moran. Above all her grandchildren who were the absolute light of her world Kailey Fowler, Edward Moran, Gloria Moran, Hudson Moran, and her fur babies Atticus Fowler and Scamp Fowler. Services will be held St. Paul's Episcopal Church located at 520 Summit St. Winston Salem NC 27101 at 2:00 on Wednesday, February 28th. A small reception will be held at her home after services.
