Diane Shirrie "Sissy" Tate

Mrs. Diane Shirrie "Sissy" Tilley Tate, 59, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth Co. on August 21, 1966, the daughter of the late William “Bill” Hassell Tilley and Betty Jane Jones Tilley. Shirrie was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She loved animals, was artistic and a loving caregiver to her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Tate and her stepmom, Mary Jo Tilley. Shirrie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard “Ricky” Tate; two daughters, Aleesha Burrow (Chad) and Sarah Tate (Dakota Cobbs); two grandchildren, Luke and Samantha Burrow; and two brothers, Billy Tilley and Jimmy Tilley (Tiffany Thomas). A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 10, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Styers officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church.
