Mrs. Dianne McKinney Putnam, 73, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Trellis Supportive Care.  Dianne was born in Surry County on September 12, 1945, to the late James Robert McKinney and Margaret Lorraine Chappell McKinney.  She graduated from Mt. Airy Senior High School in 1963.  Following graduation, she attended Catawba College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in 1967.  Dianne taught at numerous schools across North Carolina.  She was an active member of Ardmore Baptist Church for many years.  Dianne is survived by her husband of 50 years, Colon M. Putnam; and one son, Robert Bradley “Brad” Putnam and wife, Shannon.  A service to celebrate Dianne’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Ardmore Baptist Church with Dr. Gina M. Brock and Dr. Mike Queen officiating.  A private committal service will be held at the church columbarium.  The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the church fellowship hall.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller St., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mrs. Putnam.
