Dianne Lynn Fix Tharp, 73, passed away on June 25, 2026, surrounded by her family. Dianne was the soul mate and the wife of Lloyd D. Tharp, II.
She was born on August 17, 1952, in Akron Ohio, daughter of the late Cecil Vernon Fix and Carrie Lillian Lunsford Fix.
She graduated from Coventry High School in Akron, Ohio. Dianne began her career with Ohio Edison Power Company in the purchasing department. After taking advantage of several job opportunities at Ohio Edison, she retired with 17 years of service and earned a pension. Dianne had ties with her Virginia family during her childhood years and she deeply desired to relocate south. Dianne, Lloyd, and family moved to North Carolina in 1998, where she enjoyed being in the South until her passing.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, Lloyd, she is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Virginia Tharp, and two sons, Lloyd Donal Tharp, III (Rosminah Sulong Tharp “Min”) and Wayne Donal Thar, I (Janelle Tharp); two grandchildren, Clara and Eleanor Tharp, and four sisters, Patricia Labbe (Bill, dec.), Janice Ortega, Beverly Koeberle (Ralph, dec.) Kimberly Fix (Rodrigo Mancilla). Dianne is also survived by two nieces, Cecilia Ortega (Juan Villanueva) and their son, Emiliano Villanueva and Amber Capwell (Ian) and their children, Iris and Temple; and nephew, Blane and Shannon and their children Sarah and Anna.
Dianna had a special, loving, long-term friends and relationships with Homer and Eva McManama, Linda and Dale Jones; and their children, Jennifer Campbell, Karen Dedrick, Wayne McManama, Katherine Sutton, Jean Beatty, and David and Francine Settles.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, July 13, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller in Rural Hall, NC.
