Don Edward Martin

Mr. Don Edward Martin, 83, of Clemmons, N.C. passed away September 8, 2016 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital.

Don was born August 27, 1933 in Draper, NC (now Eden, NC) to the late Jesse W. Martin and Leila Nora Martin. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a graduate of Gray High School in Winston-Salem and attended High Point University. Don was formally employed by The Bahnson Company and Roadway Express.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Francis Parks Martin; his sons, Von Eric Martin (Kelly) of Winston-Salem, Lex Grant Martin (Joe Collins), Jeff Parks (Carol) and David Parks (D.J.), all of Clemmons; one sister, Clydean East of Eden; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother, Henry D. ""Pete"" Martin, sisters, Armella Foster, Evelyn London, Jacquela Heath, Linda Talley and Jessie Ann Price.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
