Donald Waller Cooley

COOLEY May 7, 1929 - May 29, 2011 Mr. Donald Waller Cooley, 82, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 29, 2011 from the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Don proudly served in the U.S. Army, after which he was hired by Morrison Cafeteria, retiring 30 years later as District Manager. Upon retirement, Don was employed as vice-president of K&W Cafeteria for 10 years. Don was a loving father and devoted husband. He will be deeply missed. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Barbara Cooley; daughter, Darlene Hollis; sons, Aaron Hollis (Gloria), Mark Cooley (Dee Dee); grandsons, Reed Hollis, Dillon, Chase, and Declan Cooley; twin sister, Boonie Rhudy (Ted). Visitation will be Tuesday May 31, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek with a chapel service following at 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Coal Creek Community Church cemetery, 2749 Coal Creek Rd. Galax, VA 24333.
