Donald "Don" Lee Argabright

Mr. Donald “Don” Lee Argabright, 88, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his home in Winston-Salem. He was born on June 3, 1937, in Blacksburg, Virginia,  to the late Malcolm Argabright and Reba Wiley Argabright. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1958 and was a proud “Hokie”. Don retired from RJ Reynolds after 34 years of service as a professional engineer. He was a member of New Hope Church where he served on several committees and was a long-time Sunday School teacher. Don was an Eagle Scout and served as Scout Master of New Hope Church Troop 900. He was also a member of The Order of the Arrow, receiving the highest honor of Vigil. He also received the Cross and Flame Award from New Hope for his exceptional work with the youth. Don enjoyed gardening, woodworking and model trains. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Jane Hamblin Argabright; one brother, Phillip Argabright; and one sister, Linda Argabright. He is survived by two sons, Greg Argabright (Cindy), and Van Argabright (Hope); one daughter, Terri Keller (Lee); eight grandchildren, Kisha Absher (Dwayne), Kevin Argabright (Jennifer), Kari Argabright, Emily Ferreira (Austin), Rachel Argabright, Aubrey Keller, Madeline Keller, and Sarah Keller; five great-grandchildren, Kyndal Absher, Kylie Absher, Kynley Absher, Holden Argabright, and Casey Ferreira; and one brother, Ricky Argabright (Debbie). A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at New Hope Church with Dr. J.F. Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: New Hope Church, P.O. Box 110, Bethania, NC 27010. The family would like to thank the staff of Teddy Angels, Abisai Marin, Maria Perez, Moureen Mbwille, and Oludonton Adebayo. Without their help, it would not have been possible to keep Don at home for the last two years.
