Donald Lee Patterson

Mr. Donald Lee Patterson, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at his home. He was born November 16, 1928 in Halifax, VA to Clyde and Lula Lee Patterson. Mr. Patterson was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was retired from Piedmont and US Air with 29 years of loyal service. He loved working in wood and enjoyed rebuilding small aircraft and flying them. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Mildred Patterson of the home; one daughter, Nancy Aichele and husband Mike of Oklahoma; one son, Danny Patterson of Belews Creek; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one brother, Harold Patterson of Charlotte. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman E. Jones, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3819 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104 or Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
