Donald Rich Riddle Jr.

Mr. Donald Rich Riddle Jr., 74, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born on October 17, 1951, in Rowan County, to the late Mr. Donald Rich Riddle Sr. and Mrs. Betty Daniel Riddle.

Mr. Riddle was a believer, and his faith was always important to him. He attended Davie High School, where he played football and graduated in 1970. Following graduation, he attended Forsyth Technical Community College, where he earned his associate degree. Donald worked as a welding technician for many years before retiring.

He loved attending drag races with his family, especially his son, Chris. Donald also spent many years coaching his children in their sporting events. In his later years, he found great joy in attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and cheering them on. He especially cherished time spent with his family, whether gathered for a cookout or grilling for the ones he loved.

Donald was a faithful husband, a loving father and Pawpaw, and a cherished brother. His love for his family and the memories they shared will forever remain in their hearts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Chris Riddle.

Left to cherish his loving memory are his wife of 53 years, Frances Ward Riddle; two daughters, Natasha Hutchens (Derek) and Melissa Stacy (Shane); seven grandchildren, Tinley, Hunter, Skylar (Cole), Max, Sam, Jamison and Colton; one great-grandson, Ryan; five siblings and their spouses; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Pastor Stan Riddle officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
