Donald Grady Searcy, 74, of New York, NY, passed away on February 13, 2026, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Grady was born on June 8, 1951, to Mary Ann Childress Searcy and Reuel Clement Searcy in Forsyth County, NC. An artist at the Arts Students League of New York, his life was dedicated to creating beautiful paintings and sharing them with the community. Grady was preceded in death by his father.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Remedios Cordeta, and his mother, Mary Ann Searcy. Also surviving are many cousins and other family members.

A funeral service will be held 6 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Tim Wolfe and Pastor Tres Ward officiating. Inurnment will take place 2 PM Monday, February 23, 2026, at Forsyth Memorial Park. 

The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
