Donna Hardy

Kernersville- Mrs. Donna Elizabeth Shields Hardy, 47, entered the more immediate presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 28, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Forsyth County on October 5, 1971 the daughter and only child of Donald Gray and Barbara Jean Weavil Shields. Donna was a lifelong member of Union Cross Moravian Church. Her main hobby has been collecting items and packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Donna attended High Point University. She was a Quality Control Chemist at High Point Chemical Company for five years. Donna was a loving wife and daughter who will be greatly missed.

In addition to her father, Donna was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ruby and Wyatt Shields; her maternal grandfather, Harrison Weavil; aunt, Vickie Weavil; uncle, Kenneth Weavil; and her cousin, Jennifer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Les Hardy; her mother, Barbara Weavil Shields; grandmother, Bernice W. Weavil; and two uncles, Steve Weavil and Robert Weavil (wife, Joan).

A funeral service for Donna will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Union Cross Moravian Church with Pastor Russell Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
