Donnie "Don" Eugene Vestal

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donnie "Don" Eugene Vestal Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, who went to be with God on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the age of 76.

Don was born on October 26, 1948 in Winston-Salem, NC, and spent his life embodying strength, toughness, kindness, and friendliness to all who met him. He was the beloved husband of Diana Vestal, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. He was the proud father of Donnie Vestal Jr. and Dana Vestal Spencer, who were his greatest joys.

A man of deep integrity and unwavering commitment, Don found purpose in his family, his work, and his friends. He was known for his warm smile, storytelling, hugs, and the steady support he offered to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Whether he was talking with his family and friends, working on a car, riding his motorcycle, or drag racing his Stripper IV Camaro, he did it with humility and love. His legacy is not only in what he did, but in how he made others feel as part of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Vestal and Willie Lee Phillips.

Don is survived by his wife, Diana Vestal; his children, Donnie (Destiny) Vestal and Dana (Josh) Spencer; his grandchildren, Addison, Dax, Maverick, Memphis, and Daylie; his brother, Eddie (Ellie) Vestal; and his dear friend, Nancy McGee.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends the night prior, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
