Donnie Ray Stewart

Donnie Stewart, 74, passed away peacefully November 12, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on September 26, 1951, in Forsyth County to the late Ray and Margaret Tilley Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Stewart.

Donnie was a hardworking, loving husband, father, papa, and friend. To know him was to love him—he never met a stranger. His favorite pastime was fishing, and he found joy and peace on the water. Donnie was gifted with his hands; a talented carpenter who loved building things and could do just about anything. His kindness, skill, and genuine heart will be remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Donna Stewart; one daughter, Amber Stewart (Ricky); a son, Richard Stewart; two grandchildren, Alana and Dylan Stewart; two brothers, Larry and Roger Stewart; and a sister, Sue Stewart. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home at 101 Hospice Lane Winston Salem, NC 27103.
