Doris M. Barrow

Mrs. Doris Murphy Barrow, 93, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016. She was born August 15, 1923 in Carroll County, VA to Mallie Kegley Murphy and Edward Murphy. Doris was a loving wife, mother, sister and proud grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved gardening, ballroom dancing, and ACC basketball. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton Spainhour; son, Gregory Lane Spainhour; three brothers and five sisters. Surviving are her husband, Bill Barrow; daughter, Debbie Batts; two granddaughters, Jennifer Patel and husband Sunil, Casey Franklin and husband Teddy; grandson, Alex Batts; sister, Charlotte Rosebrook and husband James; brother, Rex R. Murphy and wife Dewilla and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, December 30, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev Kevin L. Kilbreth officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
