Doris Folds

Doris "Bid" Fulp Folds, peacefully went home to Heaven in her sleep on Friday, March 9, 2018. She was born on October 26, 1929 to Matt Franklin Fulp and Carrie Carmichael Fulp of Walkertown. She lived all but four years in Walkertown and loved being at home. She accepted Christ as her Savior as a child while going to Walkertown Baptist and lived 88 years for the Lord. She was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She loved her church family and was proud to be a part of it. Along with her mother and father, "Bid" was preceded in her home-going by her husband, Norman Lee Folds. They were married for 62 years. She stood by his side through this life and now joins him walking on streets of gold. She leaves behind her two daughters, Ronda F. Beck and husband, Jim, and Gena F. Callahan and husband, David; two granddaughters Audra C. Locklear and husband, Gary and Anna-Carrie Beck and husband, Aquileo Herrera-Santiago; one great-grandson, Landon Lee Locklear; her only sister, Wilma "Sissy" F. Falls; and one very special friend, Margaret Wall. Though "Bid" never wanted or required attention or praise, she was the cornerstone of her family and faithful to her church and friends until her death. Her calling was to show God's love and grace. "Well done thou good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23) The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, March 12, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 13 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Shumate and Rev. Tim Hicks officiating.
