Doris Rothrock Holder, 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Winston-Salem. She was the loving wife of the late R. Frank Holder who passed away on June 2, 2009. Doris was born on July 22, 1934 in Forsyth County to the late Reuben and Vivian Campbell Rothrock. She retired from Twin City Lumber Company where she worked as a bookkeeper for over 20 years. Doris was a member of Boyers Chapel Church of Christ. Doris was an avid gardener and was known around Lewisville for sharing tomato plants and flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, R. Frank Holder; her parents; two sisters and one half-sister: Zelda Wrights, Frances Beaver and Viola Dula; and seven brothers and one half-brother: Carl Rothrock, Ray Rothrock, Terry Rothrock, Lawrence Rothrock, Harry Rothrock, Lynn Rothrock, Arch Rothrock and John Rothrock. She is survived by one brother, Charles Rothrock; numerous nieces and nephews; and lots of loving neighbors and friends. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, with Mr. James Percival and Mr. Jerry Williams officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living for their loving care of Doris. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite organization of your choosing.
