Doris Davis Joyce

Mrs. Doris Davis Joyce, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born October 3, 1934 in Forsyth Co. the daughter of the late David Franklin Davis and Betty Alice Vanhoy Davis. Mrs. Joyce had worked at Hanes Hosiery and she retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. She was a member of Northwoods Baptist Church and loved her church dearly. Mrs. Joyce was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose godly and compassionate heart will be missed deeply by all. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Mrs. Joyce is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jesse W. Joyce of the home, a daughter, Debbie Boles and husband Tom of Walnut Cove, a son, Keith Joyce of Walkertown, three granddaughters, Kayla Joyce, Crystal Dawn and Savannah Grace Millsaps and a sister, Ada Styers of Walkertown.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014 at Northwoods Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, March 2, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Northwoods Baptist Church, 5204 Old Walkertown Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
