Doris Zachary Morrison

Mrs. Doris Zachary Morrison, 95, died on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Doris was born in Yadkin County, on April 18, 1921, to Gurney Daniel Zachary and Mable Irene Phillips. She worked for Western Electric, where she served 10 years. She enjoyed travelling, was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church, and owned Fabric Village of Clemmons. An avid golfer, she retired from Bassett Country Club, where she served as an Assistant Golf Professional. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur ""A.R."" Morrison; two sisters, Polly Cochran and Winnie Speaks; and one brother, Howard Zachary. Surviving are one daughter, Lynn Church (husband J.C.); two grandchildren, Eric Church (wife M.C.) and Amy Church (husband Puput); two great grandchildren, Java and Kiki; one sister, Betty Jackson; one brother, James Zachary; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
