Mrs. Dorothy Fritz Adcox, 94, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at her residence in North Myrtle Beach, SC. She was born on March 28, 1914 to the late Dr. Robert and Ora Leslie Fritz of Hickory, NC. She was a long time member of Augsburg Lutheran Church of Winston-Salem. She was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend to all she met and she will be dearly missed. She graduated with a BS degree in elementary education from Lenoir -Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. Most of her teaching career took place in Burlington, Salisbury, Elkin and Winston-Salem. She loved music and in her earlier years she played the piano and pipe organ. She was preceded in death by her husband Lacy Barrett Adcox and was the last survivor of 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Alice Adcox Finch of Greensboro; a son, Lindsay Adcox of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two grandchildren, Leslie Finch Smith and husband, Bryan of Wilmington, N.C., Andrew Finch and wife, Amy of Alexandria, LA.; two great grandchildren, Avery Elizabeth Smith of Wilmington, N.C. and Ethan Paul Finch of Alexandria, LA. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday September 4, 2008 at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, N.C. with The Rev. Dr. Ronald A. Rinn officiating.
