Dorothy "Dot" Mae Flippin Jones

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Mae Flippin Jones, 92, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on November 3, 1933, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Samuel Meadows Flippin and Ola Agnus Kiser Flippin. Dorothy retired from RJ Reynolds after 32 years of service as a computer software analyst. She was a member of United Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Gray Jones and sister, Rachel Flippin. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Deborah Nelms (John); son, Steven Jones (Kim); five grandchildren, Jessica Clark (Rob), Jared Nelms (Brandy), Brody Jones (Ashley), Amber Ellis (Roy), and Nikki Jargowsky; four great-grandchildren, Haddie Nelms, Aiden Jones, Charlotte Jones, and Lizzy Clark; and sister, Betty Flippin. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, June 19, 2026, at United Baptist Church with Pastor Will Watson officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial will take place following the service.
