Dorothy Leigh Dotson

Mrs. Dorothy Leigh Dotson, 91, died on November 29, 2016, at her residence. Dorothy was born in Durham, NC, on May 27, 1925, to John William and Margaret Pauline Scales Roberts. During WWII, she worked for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, CA. Once she became a mother, she focused her energy on her family and took great pride in being a homemaker and wife. After her children were grown, she returned to work as a bookkeeper for Midway Electric Company. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence Edward Dotson; and one sister, Margaret Ann Roberts Stuckey. Surviving are one daughter, Debra Leigh Dotson; one son, Robert Edward Dotson (wife Robin); two grandchildren, Amber Elizabeth Dotson and Robert Edward Dotson, Jr.; and two step-grandchildren, Matthew Alan Swaim and Mark Wesley Swaim (wife Janna). A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. John Bishop officiating.
