Dorothy Gray Grimes

Mrs. Dorothy Gray Grimes, 65, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC after a long battle with breast cancer. Mrs. Grimes was preceded in death by her mother Laura Viola Evans Gray. She is survived by her loving husband, Carlton Dean Grimes of Winston-Salem; her children Laura Broome Harris of Alpharetta, GA, Michael Austin Broome of York, SC and Amanda Broome Deal of Winston-Salem, NC; her grandchildren Anne Catherine Harris and Drew Harris of Alpharetta, GA and Abigail Deal of Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Grimes was an honors graduate of the University of South Carolina and worked as a teacher for more than 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and quilting. The family will receive friends from 4.00pm to 6.00pm on June 4 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home in Great Falls, SC.
