Dorothy Helen Keyes Grubbs

Kernersville- Mrs. Dorothy Helen Keyes Grubbs, 97, passed away Sunday October 11, 2026, at Trinity Glen. She was born on December 30, 1928, in Washington County, VA., the daughter of Charles and Lura Rose Keyes. She was a member of Kerwin Baptist Church and was a former member of Love’s United Methodist Church. Mostly a homemaker, she was also known for working at RJR, Crown Drug Store and was a real estate broker. She enjoyed crafts, which included painting and cutouts made with her jigsaw. While doing her crafts she enjoyed listening to Bible Broadcasting Network and Christian Music. She was always dressed for the occasion and loved everything to be “Clean and Neat.” She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2006, Renza Grubbs; a son, Mark Timothy Grubbs and her siblings, Walter, Charles, Eva and Louise. Survivors include her two sons, Rick Grubbs (Carrie) of Galax, VA. and Jerry Grubbs (Trish) of Kernersville; fourteen grandchildren, Justin Grubbs (Shannon), Patrick Grubbs (Brittany), Sunshine Grubbs, Summer Dorman (Titus), Joshua Grubbs (Alyson), Joy Durr (Chip), Ricky Grubbs, Royal Grubbs, Caleb Grubbs, Christian Grubbs (Breanna), Precious Grubbs, Paul Grubbs, Jubilee Grubbs and Jewel Grubbs; twelve great grandchildren and many family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Daniel Hawtree officiating. Burial will follow at Love’s United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
