Dorothy Annette Holmes

MT OLIVE – Dorothy Annette Holmes, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Summerstone Nursing and Rehab Center. Dorothy was born on January 12, 1937 in Duplin County.

Dorothy loved being outside in the garden, working in the yard, and fishing. She kept a clean house and biggest concern was taking care of others before herself.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Edward W. Holmes; two daughters, Robin Pitts (Gerald), and Kempy Marshall (R.D.); five grandchildren, Jordan Marshall (Megan), Jennifer Placke (Samuel), Jason Marshall (Caroline), Joshua Pegram (Katie), and Myles Pitts; three great grandchildren, Emersyn, Reagan, and Abby; one sister, Janice Brock (Curt); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private family graveside service will be held.  Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
