Dorothy DeMoss Medford

Dorothy Jean DeMoss Medford, 73, of Myrtle Beach, died Thursday April 9th, 2026, at home with her family.

She was born on September 5, 1952 in Stoneville, North Carolina to Edward Ray DeMoss and Elsie Lee Roberts DeMoss. She graduated from High Point Central High School. On June 12, 1971, she married Robert Lee Medford in High Point. Dorothy dedicated her career to healthcare, working at hospitals across North Carolina, including Mission, Carteret General, Onslow Memorial, Forsyth, and others. She had a deep love for Christ and for the beach. She lived across North Carolina, briefly lived in California, and finally settled in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

She is survived by her son David (wife Merissa) and granddaughter Cayla, son Daniel (wife Lindsay), as well as many other cherished relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, brother James Alvin DeMoss Sr., sister Roxie Ann, and an infant brother.

There will be a graveside service on April 13th, 2026, at 12 p.m. in Mt Gur Cemetery, Kernersville, NC

Dorothy had a deep love for flowers and natural beauty. However, in lieu of flowers, she wished for donations to be made to a charity of your choice. The family thanks the Hospice of Cabarrus County for their wonderful care and support.
