Dorothy 'Dot' Wooten Shelton

Dorothy ""Dot"" Wooten Shelton passed away at her home on August 14, 2013. She was born October 14, 1924 to the late John Wooten and Mary Sheets Wooten in Liberty, NC. Dot retired from Western Electric (AT&T) after 29 years of service. She loved to travel, read and work puzzles. More than anything, she enjoyed her large, loving family. Survivors include her son, John Shelton (Edna); daughters, Marsha Massey and Susan Shelton; grandchildren, Derrick Bryant (Roga), Rose Shelton (Travis Colley), Rebecca Daniele, Alicia Bennett (Mike), Andrea Boger, Amy Boger, Leeann Nagel (Chris), and Bradley Shelton; as well as 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Arlan Faircloth officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to National Cancer Society or National Alzheimers Association. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
